We walk through the markets and see well-stocked grocery shelves. What we do not suspect: Global rice and grain reserves are already depleted.
It is hard to imagine, but secured World Food heard in the near future of the past. The prices for wheat, corn and rice have skyrocketed in the past two years, has doubled in the last six months even.
The budget enough money in Asia 3 years ago for another three bags of rice - today it is a little more. Entire areas dry up in China and Australia and in Malaysia and Indonesia call on governments to rationing.
It is still such a way that felt mainly the poor countries the approaching disaster. But it will be too late if the rich industrialized countries simply wait until the effects come with them.
Bommert explained concise and understandable that we may face in the coming decades, a canton of the World Food that looks like an apocalyptic scenario. The only possibility: an emergency brake, which must enforce the priority of the World Food also against the interests of global corporations . A radical task in which the people are running out of time ...
