Some people question is perhaps: Represents the Basic Law a Constitution or to replace it only this? Sounds like a legal technicality, but is of enormous importance for the self-image of our state . Because it also raises further questions with: Are we really free and sovereign ? Or are we still products of continuous occupation of foreign countries? A strikingly realistic simulation State?
These questions will be gone in the book on the ground. It offers a walk through the articles of the Basic Law , during which we recognize as binding commitments of freedom, human dignity and fundamental rights actually are.
The book is not addressed in constitutional law, but lay readers as it is easy to read and understand well. The interwoven articles are interspersed with comments, so that there can not replace the appearance of a legal reference book. And in places where the legal text itself seems too complex, will help the reader in their own words.
